Anger Management

Mary Beth Cooke psychotherapistAnger is one of the most destructive emotions we experience. Not only can it put people we love in jeopardy, but it puts your own health at serious risk. An important parts controlling your anger is recognizing the physical changes in your body before you act out. For example, Is your heart racing? Do you feel a rush of warmth to your head? Also, when you can identify the triggers (the tone of voice, the subject matter, the environment, etc.) you can learn better impulse control.

We will practice mindfulness techniques in session to raise your awareness of your mind, body, and spirit when you are feeling anger, and help you practice more effective, safe ways of reacting to these triggers.
