Body Issues

In today’s world it can be a real challenge to develop a healthy body image. Counseling sessions are the best place to start your journey towards a healthy body image. Being a woman myself, I am all too familiar with the issues women are facing regarding their own bodies.

Some people are too deeply entrenched in their body issues to resolve them on their own. In therapy, we work together to challenge the idea of the ideal body and to celebrate the unique ways a person manifests them self in the world. Women are affected by media and social influences that invite them to feel flawed or inadequate, which in turn may lead to body image dissatisfaction, dieting issues, or obesity.

Negative images or feelings can also be as a result of body changes during pregnancy, menstruation, surgery or from natural aging processes. Always, there are personal or familial issues at play, so seeking professional help is highly recommended.
