Friendships

Choosing, Making and Keeping friends

We often associate friendship with our childhood, but good friendships in our adult lives are also important. In fact, friendship has numerous physical and spiritual benefits. True friends can be a source of self-esteem, affection, and good times. In times of despair they can offer hope and comfort.

Friendships permeate our lives, having an impact on our careers, marriages, families, children, health, and even our retirement. This is why we need to be able to choose friends that have positive influence over our life. It is extremely difficult but crucial to recognize when a friendship is not good for you. It can be hard to end a friendship, even when we know it is for the best. Learning to choose your friends wisely can make a big difference in your life and alleviate future heartache and stressful situations.

Good friendships are vital for well-being, but they take time to develop and can not be artificially created. Friendships are a key component to your personal happiness, as well as your career success, and even your physical and emotional health. So much so that you may want to consider getting help with your friendship- related challenges and concerns, whether they are a fear of friendship, a pattern of picking “toxic” friends, or learning to make new friends.

Beyond a doubt, true friends can and will improve our lives.
